Where to Eat in Westchester
It’s no secret that Westchester is full of amazing and unique restaurants, which makes it so hard to choose just one to go to with the family. However, when it comes to finding something that the whole family will like, we know the county doesn’t sell itself short. We’ve narrowed it down to some of the spots where kids will enjoy eating their meals.
Mt. Kisco Diner
252 Main Street, Mt. Kisco, NY | 914.666.5676
Whether you’re coming for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Mt. Kisco Diner is full of fun food that your kids can devour. They even have a section of the menu called “Instagram Favorites” for unique food styling that makes you want to take a photo, like breaded chicken cutlet in the shape of taco shells and filled with different kinds of pasta. Their all-day breakfast also has some crazy concoctions, including their brownie caramel pancake sundae or their jelly donut French toast. For dessert, their over-the-top mega milkshakes.
Walter’s Hot Dogs
937 Palmer Avenue, Mamaroneck, NY | 914.500.5029
186 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, NY | 914.397.9406
Who doesn’t love hot dogs? Walter’s has been known for their world-famous one since 1919, which is an exclusive blend of beef, pork, and veal, then split down the middle, grilled in a “secret sauce,” and served on a toasted bun. Enjoy it with their signature mustard or as you like it. Aside from their award-winning hot dogs, potato sides like French fries, curly fries, sweet potato fries, or potato puffs (basically, fried mashed potatoes). And for dessert, their homemade Italian ices and ice creams, freezes, floats, and funnel cake sticks will be sure to hit the spot.
Candlelight Inn
519 Central Park Avenue, Scarsdale, NY | 914.472.9706
The Candlelight Inn has been a part of the community since 1955, a place (or as they say, “a tradition”) where memories are made, and especially known for its wings. Coated in a blend of butter and Frank’s Red Hot sauce, these plump and meaty wings will make your mouth dance. However, there are so many other options to choose from that the family can get whatever they’re in the mood for: BBQ, teriyaki, Bourbon honey, dry rub, garlic parm, honey mustard, and more. You can even decide how you want your legs cooked, from dry, well done, or wet and sloppy.
Banzai Steakhouse
95 S Central Avenue, Hartsdale, NY | 914.997.7888
Hibachi food is fun for the whole family. It’s an interactive dining experience that captivates adults and children. Onion volcanoes erupting on a large grill in front of you, heaping portions of freshly prepared food, there’s nothing like it. At Banzai Steakhouse, your family will enjoy fine and fresh Japanese cuisine most entertainingly. Their teppanyaki tables, grilling stations located at your table, will have your hibachi-style food made and served by your own personal, energetic, and entertaining chef.
