Bear Mountain Ice Rink

Enjoy scenic views of Bear Mountain while skating on the large outdoor ice rink. Many of their visitors are repeat customers and referrals because the vibes of this skate rink are just that good. While the rink can be rented to private parties, it offers weekend-long public skating times until 9:30 PM on certain days. How thrilling would it be to skate at night with the pitch black of the mountains around you?

Bedford Hills Memorial Park

While outdoor ice skating depends solely on how cold it is, it will be worth visiting Lake Marie. If guests see the green flag up, it means they are good to go, and ice skating on the lake can commence and guests are permitted to skate in the designated areas. And, of course, if the red flag is up, stay away!

Dorothy Hamill Ice Rink

Located right over the Westchester border, visitors can have ice-skating fun through March. All ages can enjoy a variety of ice skating activities, including birthday parties, group ice skating lessons, youth hockey, public and private sessions, and even a town skating competition.

Ebersole Ice Rink

Located within Delfino Park, visitors will find the ice skating rink. Proudly serving three local schools/teams, the rink also offers public skating sessions throughout the week along with figure skating lessons, learn-to-skate instructions, and youth ice hockey programs. Feeling a little peckish while skating? They also offer a concession stand for your hunger and thirst needs. While the rink is open for everyone, residents of White Plains can get free admission on Fridays.

Greenwich Skating Club

This is a member-based club founded in 1954 that offers many opportunities for families. In fact, around 250 families are signed up. Featuring a private rink outdoors with a renovated clubhouse, pro shop, fireplaces, coaching rooms, and a snack bar, the club offers various skating opportunities. This includes an adult hockey league and even curling. Those curious to become a member can reach out via email or on their website.

Hommocks Park Ice Rink

Since 1975, this Westchester public skating facility has continued to offer fun for the whole family. With special promotions and events offered throughout the season, there’s even a wide variety of year-round recreational community events like Character Skate. Spectators are also free during ice skating sessions (and the area is heated).

Ice Hutch

Enjoy skating all-year round at this large ice rink. Opening in 1997. The Hutch has been serving the skating community by offering all-level skating lessons, weekly public skating, figure skating, and hockey sessions.

Murray’s Skating Center

The Skating Center has provided both residents and non-residents with quality skating programs and special events since 1960. Newly renovated, the Center now offers a mezzanine viewing level so onlookers can see those skating below, whether it be for recreational skating, hockey, or lessons.

Palisades Center Ice Rink

The Palisades Mall has a little bit of everything…and that includes a whole ice rink! From public skating, to stick time, to freestyle to the Tuesday Night Hockey Clinic, there’s a great way to take a break from shopping at this mall. The New York Rangers even host some “Junior Rangers” Girls Hockey events for free, where young girls get to learn to play the sport.

Playland Ice

Playland isn’t just a summertime amusement park- it’s loaded up for winter fun as well. Owned by American Sports Entertainment Centers, LLC, the largest independent owner/operator of ice rink facilities in the United States, this particular rink offers a wide variety of programs and is home to many college, high school, and youth hockey and skating associations. Come for the learn-to-skate and learn-to-play group instruction, professional instruction and training, youth and adult camps and clinics, private lessons, daily freestyle, public stick times, and pickup hockey sessions, or drop-in training and recreational play.

The Rooftop at Pier 17

This venue is known for its lively concerts during the summertime. However, did you know that it’s also available for wintertime fun? The Winterland Rink at Pier 17 is in the Seaport District and gives phenomenal views of the NYC skyline and the Brooklyn Bridge. This is truly a unique way to see the City.

Sal J. Prezioso Mountain Lakes Park

This is one of the many county parks that are open for skating during the winter season. Mountain Lakes Park hosts their off-season skating at their summer camp grounds’ site. Of course, only when it’s cold enough! It also hosts snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and more.

Westchester Skating Academy

The academy has so much to offer for all skill levels, all ages, and all different types of skating. For starters, visitors can reserve spots for a public session and can add on skate rentals as well. Fees range anywhere from $6 to $21, and there are various day and time options. For those looking to learn how to skate, the Academy offers various opportunities, including ice hockey lessons for two and three-year-olds all the way up to the adult and teens class for basic skill levels. There are also plenty of opportunities for figure skating classes, ranging from freestyle to private lessons.
