Where in Westchester to watch a game and eat a good meal
With the fall season in full swing, you can look forward to an NFL or College football game every Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. The vibes of the season are immaculate; there’s something to be said about going to a restaurant or bar with your friends and devouring some delicious grub and drink while cheering with the stranger next to you. Westchester is full of venues ready to take you under their wing while eating some wings. Here’s where to get your food and football fill this season.
Saw Mill Tavern

925 Saw Mill River Road, Ardsley, NY
914.479.5370
Bar: Sunday to Monday, 11:30 am to 2:00 am
Kitchen: Sunday, 11:30 am to 9:30 pm
Monday to Saturday, 11:30 am to 10:30 pm
The Saw Mill Tavern opened its doors on September 2, 2016, with a combination of dedicated staff, loyal patrons, and delicious food, making it a success for the past nine years.
“Walking into the Saw Mill is like walking into a warm hug — everyone is always so friendly and the staff treat you like family (and for the regular customers, they certainly are), says Wendy Wels, Events Manager of Saw Mill Tavern. “It’s a place where everyone comes together, in good times and bad, for delicious food, good spirits, and camaraderie. Even if you come in alone, you will make new friends immediately. It’s that warm vibe that makes the Saw Mill feel like everyone’s home away from home.”
That’s why this tavern is a touchdown with locals and travelers. The elevated bar food is made from scratch with fresh ingredients. Along with daily specials, patrons can enjoy anything from award-winning wings to ginormous burgers, to the world’s best chili and soups, inventive salads and sandwiches, like southern fried chicken with mashed potatoes, NY strip steak, shepherd’s pie, and the popular bourbon-glazed salmon.
Wels adds, “Did I mention dessert? Off the hook! Everything is homemade by our pastry chef — Oreo cheesecake, apple crisp, zeppoles, and more.
So when it comes to football season, Saw Mill Tavern does it up big. With 12 large flat screens featuring all sports packages and surround sound, you’ll be able to feast your eyes on your favorite game while feasting on food.
“Throw on your team jersey and come join the party,” exclaims Wells. “College Football all day on Saturday and NFL, of course, every Sunday, Monday, and Thursday. We show all sports all the time.”
A delightful gesture that the Saw Mill Tavern offers is during the Super Bowl, where football fans are welcome to gather and watch the game.
“For the Super Bowl, as a thank you to our guests for all of their continued support, we put out a complimentary lavish spread of food,” says Wels.
And of course, no sports game is complete without a cold drink in hand. The Tavern has bucket specials all year long, such as 5 domestic beers for $20, 5 imported beers for $28, and spiked seltzers are 4 for $28. They also feature varied drink specials regularly.
