This year, the mansion is rolling out new and exciting public program- ming. Craving a mid-winter murder mystery? Starting March 17, Lyndhurst hosts M&M theater’s production of Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap. The spine-tingling tale features an array of color- ful characters stranded in a remote mansion during a terrible snow storm. The roads are blocked, the phone lines are cut and then, MURDER! Who is the murderer in their midst? Join us to find out. The Mousetrap opens March 17 and runs through April 2, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00 pm and Sat- urdays and Sundays at 3:00 pm. Kicking off the spring season is a greatly anticipat- ed Spring Blossoms Flower Show, held April 8-9. Florists will display lavish arrangements through- out the rooms of the mansion. The show runs from April 8 to 9 and opens with a special Preview Par- ty co-sponsored by the Garden Club of Irvington on Friday, April 7 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. At the Preview Party, the public will have the opportunity to meet the floral designers and discuss their sig- nature style while touring the mansion. The show continues on Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. For kids and families, there’s Design and Build Weekend. Lyndhurst’s popular family program re- turns April 29 and 30 to once again bring fun, dy- namic activities to kids interested in architecture, engineering, and design. The weekend’s events in- clude the interactive creation of a 3D village using recycled materials, massive LEGO® sculptures, robotics battles, scavenger hunts along Lynd- hurst’s historic property, crafts, food, and enter- tainment. The event runs from 10 am to 4 pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Another family favorite is the Craft Show at Lyndhurst. Running May 5-7, rain or shine, the craft show is the best place to find one-of-a-kind contemporary art objects and gifts. Don’t miss this popular event that brings over 300 artists to Lyndhurst’s great lawn. First time visitors are invited to step inside the Gilded Age during a Classic Mansion Tour. Tours last approximately one hour and visit 16 of the mansion’s most stunning rooms, from the lavish Victorian dining room to the stunning Art Gallery and the majestic bedrooms. Tours begin April 14, Thursday - Monday. Always wanted to see behind the scenes at Lyndhurst? This season, the mansion will offer two specialty tours that visit never-before-seen spaces. The Backstairs Tour visits the observa- tion tower which provides stunning views of the Hudson River and then descends the stairs to the many servant’s spaces within the mansion. The Bowling Pavilion Tour will visit the newly re- stored 1894 bowling pavilion as well as the lower landscape enclosing the building. Specialty tours are offered on Saturdays and Sundays.
