The Warmth of Winter

As the days grow longer and spring gets ever closer, I get excited to connect with nature and my neighbors. What better place to get your dose of humanity than your local coffee shop? In Westchester, many caffeine entrepreneurs have opened unique shops in recent years–check out the vibe and flavors of three of them in this issue.

After your coffee fix, get ready to head off on your Westchester adventure. Just choose your Westchester region (Rivertowns, Northern, etc), and explore what you can do: from a winter visit to the Lyndhurst mansion, an entertaining night out, or a new St. Patrick’s Day parade.

Up for a Westchester adventure? Pick your Winter Sport and choose among the nearby slopes, rinks or trails, or shop at a new farmers market. After a day out and about, you’ll want to talk all about it over a drink (virgin or not), so check out a unique speakeasy in an unsuspecting Victorian in Mt. Kisco.

A day of tranquility awaits you this season, too. Check out the spa retreats just a short drive from here. And if you’re looking for a gift for your Valentine, head to our Celebrate in Winter section at the end of this issue.

So whether you’re looking for a local craft brew or a night out with the crew, a deep green trail or an artistic detail, delicious bites or a show that excites, thanks for starting your Westchester winter here, and I’m wishing you a spectacular season.

With warmest wishes
-Nina N. Harrison, Publisher
